Biography

Mike Metro is an Assistant Fire Chief for the Los Angeles County Fire Department with 31 years of experience in the fire service, 17 of those as a paramedic. He is currently assigned as the Technical Services Division Manager providing oversight to the Department's EMS, Training, Homeland Security and Technical Operations Sections as well as the Wellness Fitness Program. For seven years, he was the Director of Emergency Medical Services. His responsibilities included the management of the EMS program for a department that responds to nearly 200,000 EMS responses per year with over 1,000 paramedics and 3,000 EMTs.

In addition, he is the Past President of the California Association of Fire Chiefs EMS Section and a member of the executive board to the International Association of Fire Chiefs EMS Section.

Chief Metro has been married for 32 years with three grown children, two of which are fire fighter paramedics for the LA County Fire Department.
